While Chan tore open his birthday presents over the weekend, I started thinking about gift-wrapping. It impresses me to no end when I see a well-wrapped present; specifically one with a bow-tied ribbon. Who has the time or patience? I failed many times at the traditional grosgrain bow, and now will opt for minimalist twine—when I can be bothered. Twine is so much cooler than ribbon anyway, right? Maybe not. Look at these! Ribbonesia is from Japanese artist Baku Maeda. These little works of art might just have me ribbon-bound again. Perhaps I will try to create a woodland creature with the kids this week... I'm inspired. Are you?
